The Carbon Reduction Efforts section evaluates the reduction measures your company has implemented within each Business Segment.
You can access it under Self-Assessment → Carbon Reduction Efforts.
What is the "Carbon Reduction Efforts" section?
This part of the self-assessment asks about specific reduction measures your organization has implemented for each Business Segment you supply to your customer.
A Business Segment represents your operations for a specific product or service in a specific country.
Example:
“Manufacturing – Germany”
“Business Services – Spain”
How should I answer questions for a Business Segment?
Answer based on actual practices within the operations of that specific segment.
If your company has multiple sites within the same segment (e.g., two factories in Germany), you should:
consolidate their efforts
disclose the average implementation level
ensure your answer reflects the overall performance of the segment
What if a question doesn’t apply to my business?
You can select “Not applicable”.
This is recommended when:
the measure cannot be implemented in your business model
the question doesn’t fit the nature of your operations
Remember: leaving a question blank lowers your transparency level. Selecting “Not applicable” is better than skipping it entirely.
What if many questions are not applicable to my business?
Some reduction measures may not fit your specific business model, and that’s completely fine, simply select “Not applicable” where appropriate.
If you would still like to provide your customer with additional insights into your decarbonization progress, you can optionally use the Carbon Accounting Module to calculate and share your company’s carbon footprint (Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 upstream).
This gives your customer a clearer picture of your emissions profile, even if certain reduction measures do not apply to your operations.

What do the “implementation degree” options mean?
Each measure has a scale showing the extent to which it is implemented within the Business Segment.
You should choose based on:
how many sites or locations apply the measure
how consistently the measure is practiced
whether the measure is anchored in operational policies

More complete and accurate answers help your customer understand your progress and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Can I copy answers between Business Segments?
Yes — if you have been invited to the same Business Segments in different countries (for example "Business Services" in Spain and France), you can use the Import Answers function to save time.
Can I update my answers later?
Yes. You can return to this section anytime to update information.
When you want your customer to see your updates, be sure to click Submit.
